How do I line it up with a real month?
Check which weekday the 1st falls on, move the 1 in the first row to that column, clear the cells before it, then continue row by row to the month’s end. Only the first row is numbered so you can lay out any month.
Can I colour-code events?
Yes. Set a cell background — one colour for meetings, another for deadlines. To colour cells containing “Due” automatically, add a text-contains rule under Format ▸ Conditional formatting.
Can I keep all twelve months in one file?
Duplicate the sheet twelve times and give each its month’s title and dates; the sheet tabs at the bottom then switch between months.
