What about blank values?

Rows with a blank in that column go into their own part, named “(blank)”.

How are files named?

By value: the cell value (e.g. “Sales.xlsx”); by rows: “Part 1, Part 2…”.

Does each part keep the header?

Yes, every part starts with the original header.

How many parts can it make?

No limit — by value, you get as many parts as there are distinct values.

How does this differ from Split CSV?

This outputs Excel and can split by value; Split CSV cuts big CSVs by row count and keeps CSV.
