Split a PowerPoint into several files

A long deck to hand out to different presenters, or a few slides to send: drop the .pptx to see the slide count, choose “One file per slide” or ranges like “1-3, 4-6, 8” (one file per group; “3, 1” reorders), click Start and download the ZIP. Splitting removes unwanted slides from the file itself with no re-export, so animations, transitions, SmartArt, charts, masters and notes on the kept slides are exactly as before, and images used only by removed slides go too, so files get smaller.

Are animations kept?

Yes. Unwanted slides are deleted; kept slides are untouched.

How do I write ranges?

Separate with commas: “1-3, 5, 7-9” gives three files; “3, 1” gives one file with slide 3 then 1.

What about links on an agenda slide?

Links to removed slides become plain text; links to kept slides still work.

Can I merge instead?
