Compress PowerPoint, Word and Excel files online

Office files are big because of the photos inside: a phone picture is several MB even when it fills half a slide. Only the images are touched — JPEG photos are recompressed at the quality you choose and anything wider than 2560 px is scaled down, PNG stays PNG and is only resized, and if a new image is not smaller the original is kept. Text, formatting, layout, animations and comments stay as they were, and the result shows the size before and after plus how many images were compressed or left alone. Vector images (EMF / WMF / SVG), animated GIFs and CMYK print photos are not touched.

How much smaller will it get?

It depends on the photos inside: photo-heavy decks often shrink by more than half, text-only documents barely change — the result shows the real before / after sizes.

Will quality suffer?

Balanced is hard to tell apart on screen; choose Keep sharp for large prints, Smallest for email.

Why are videos not compressed?

Re-encoding video needs a dedicated tool; this one only handles pictures. Remove the video or replace it with a link.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Unpacking, compressing and repacking all happen in your browser.

What about old .ppt files?

No — save as .pptx in PowerPoint or WPS first.

Is there a size limit?

We set none; it depends on your device’s memory. Decks of a few hundred MB are usually fine on a computer.
