Merge several PowerPoints into one
Several people each made part of a deck: drop the .pptx files in order, click Start and get one presentation with every slide, with the slide count reported. To be clear: merging reads each file into the online editor and exports them together — text, images, tables, backgrounds, notes, transitions and simple entrance / exit animations survive, but complex animation sequences, SmartArt and embedded audio / video may be lost, charts become images, and masters are no longer shared. Check and edit the result in the online presentation editor.

Why are some animations missing?
Merging re-exports each file, and complex sequences cannot be reproduced yet. For a perfect result, use Reuse Slides in PowerPoint.
Can I still edit chart data?
No — charts become images.
Why does splitting keep everything but merging does not?
Splitting only deletes slides; merging combines files with different masters and themes, which is done here by re-exporting, so something is lost.
Can I reorder?
Files merge in the order added; remove and re-add to reorder.
Is anything uploaded?
No, it all happens in your browser.
Old .ppt files?
No — save as .pptx first.
