Batch find and replace across Word, PPT and Excel

A company rename, new prices, a different party in a contract: write the pairs, drop one file or a batch, click Start, and each file reports how many replacements were made. Word often stores one word in several pieces (say one letter was bolded), so piece-by-piece replacing misses it — here whole paragraphs are matched, so split words are found; replaced text takes the formatting of the first matched piece, and everything unmatched stays byte-for-byte. Headers, footers, footnotes, PPT notes and Excel cell text are all covered.

Why does Word’s own replace sometimes miss?

It usually finds it, but you must open each file. Here a whole batch is done at once, split words included.

Will formatting break?

Unmatched parts do not change at all; a match takes the formatting of its first character, which is usually invisible.

Does whole-word matching work for Chinese?

Chinese has no spaces between words, so whole-word matching only applies to languages like English or Russian.

Can I replace with nothing to delete?

Yes — leave “Replace with” empty.

Is anything uploaded?

No, it all happens in your browser.

Can I undo?

The original is never changed — you download new files, so just adjust and run again.
