What is free in TutuDocs? — All of it, and no account needed

The online spreadsheet, document and slide editors plus 31 templates are all usable without an account — unlimited, and nothing is watermarked. Below, line by line: what needs a sign-in and whether there are any limits. Vague free is not free.

Limits — none that we set

  • No file-size cap: whether it converts is up to your device, we do not pre-empt it
  • No page cap on PDFs, and no cap on how many files at once
  • If you do hit a wall we name the cause, offer a way forward and give an event ID — not just “failed”

Honest caveats

  • No real-time multi-user collaboration
  • Scans need a one-off download of the text-recognition engine (about 6 MB); recognition itself still runs on your device
  • While signed out, work lives in your browser only; clearing browser data loses it
  • Complex documents may lose some formatting on a round trip to and from Office

FAQ

Why not promise “free forever”?
Because nobody can back that claim. What we can say: it is free today, unlimited, with no hidden sign-up wall — and the editors run in your browser, so that part costs us nothing at the margin and we have no reason to ration it.
What is the difference between free and paid?
There is no paid tier today. Cloud saving and version history need servers and are open to signed-in users at no charge.
Could features move behind a paywall later?
Nothing already shipped gets taken back. If a paid tier ever happens it would sit on the server side — more storage, team features — not lock away what already runs in your browser.
How is this sustainable?
The editing and conversion run in your browser, so serving cost is close to zero: a hundred thousand simultaneous users do not change our bill. That is exactly why we can leave it open.
